Physical and Chemical Properties:

Carbon Black N-772

Overview:

N-772 is a semi-reinforcing carbon black.

It has a lower surface area and structure than ASTM N-500 and N-600 carbon blacks.

Its high purity makes it ideal for use in extruded products where quality standards do not allow for any defects.

It can be used in a wide range of rubber product applications, particularly those requiring low modulus, low compressive strength, good resilience, and high carbon black loadings.

High carbon black loadings help reduce die swell in harsh environments and lower permeability. When this carbon black is used with mineral fillers, it offers a good alternative for compounds that must use thermal carbon blacks.

Processing Characteristics:
Compared to grades N550 and N660, in compounds with the same filler content (phr), it behaves as follows:
  • It reduces viscosity and generates less heat during processing.
  • Increases die swell and shrinkage during extrusion.
  • Higher resilience and electrical resistivity.
  • Lower modulus.
Typical Applications:
  • Gaskets, seals, windshield wipers, engine mounts, and hose liners.
  • Tire inner liners and compounds.
Note:
Industrial-grade carbon black. Negroven, S.A. does not endorse the use of its products in direct applications or those that will come into contact with food, cosmetics, or medications.
